Apollo tips&tricks: Your Applicom account
Apollo helps you manage your project and contacts, all in one. It's powerful, and highly configurable. Do you want to use Apollo at its very fullest? Then read on.
Trick 1: Your Applicom account: change your email address, avatar, password
When you are invited to Apollo and then join, you are assigned an "Applicom account". You can use this account to log into any Apollo workspace you have access to. To change your Applicom account's settings, just log into any one workspace you have access to, click on "Account" under Personal settings:
Note: you will see your Applicom account's email address, the workspaces you have access to (with links), your picture, and your password. Note: changes here will affect your Applicom account as a whole! So, for example changing the email address here will affect every single workspace.
Trick 2: What's your login name? And your workspace?
Some users know for sure that they have an Applicom account, but cannot remember their login name nor the workspace they had access to. In this case, just go to http://account.apollohq.com and click on "Forgot your password?". At that point, enter your email address there. At that point, you will receive a very comprehensive email which will include all of the Applicom accounts connected to that email address, and as well as every workspace that account has access to:
Trick 3: notifications to a different email address
Your Applicom account has an email address connected to it (in Settings > Account). When you are invited to a new workspace, the notification email will be set to your Applicom account's email address. However, in some cases you might want to receive notifications for a specific workspace to a different email address. You can do that by setting a different email address under Settings > Personal Settings > Notifications.
Note that this is a per-workspace settings! Your Applicom account will not be affected: this will only affect where notifications will go for this specific workspace.

Any plans to integrate sites like box.net or dropbox?

Hi,
Yep they are in our plans. To integrate with Dropbox, there is something you can do now -- email us an I'll explain!

Please email me about drop box support. We rely on both technologies heavily and it would be great if they worked together. Keep up the great work!

Hi,
Document sharing and collaboration is outside the scope of Apollo,
which focuses on project management and CRM.
However, what a lot of people do, is put in the project description a
snippet that contains an iFrame for something like Dropbox. That way,
you can basically dump files in there and share documents.
Basically, go to Project Settings, tick the "Allow html in announcement" and add the Dropbox iFrame in the announcement!
I hope this helps,
Merc.

I know Apollo focuses on project management and CRM, but document collaboration is an essential part of PM (at least, for me). So far Apollo looks very promising, but the lack of document collaboration is a sticking point for my PM tool choice. Anyway, cheers, good luck and keep it up, I hope this tool keeps evolving for the best.

Hi,
What do you mean by "document collaboration"? Something like whiteboards? Or more like Google Documents?

Love your product - hate your lack of documentation on how to use it beyond your introductory screencasts. You don't seem to understand as a company how important it is to allow your users to easily use your entire product, including advanced features, to solve their problem. You force your users to use trial and error to figure out your features, which is quite thoughtless on your part.

Hi Barton,
Did you receive my previous email? I thought the message was clear:
"Point 100% taken. I am starting a new documentation project this very moment."
I hope this helps!
